Happy Birthday Mollie!

If you have a passion for all things handmade and crafty, you really should take a look at our sister magazine, Mollie Makes (if you haven't already!)

It brings you the best of craft online, a look inside the homes of the world’s most creative crafters, tutorials on inspiring makes, round ups of the most covetable stash and tours of the crafty capitals of the world, all put together in a beautifully irresistible magazine. It sounds good doesn't it?

There are also plenty of innovative and quirky cross stitching projects to keep you busy too, so it's the ideal magazine if you're an avid stitcher, looking to broaden your horizons by trying out some new crafts.

FREE herb pot cross stitch patterns

Well, it has to be said that the team here at Cross Stitch Collection loves a bit of gardening. So much so that we couldn't resist packing our latest issue full of garden scenes. From Joan Elliott's Butterfly Fairy (the latest in her Garden Fairies series) to this wonderful Scarborough Fair sampler from Gail Bussi, we've truly embraced the great outdoors.

FREE charts from Cross Stitch Collection!

We're feeling super generous at Cross Stitch Collection this month so we're bringing you not one, but two free download charts from our latest issue!

On sale now, our May issue (209) is completely packed full of wonderful celebratory cross stitch patterns – so much so that it's really got us in the mood for a good old British street party. So, with that in mind, we've found some extra patterns and motifs for you from Angela Poole's pretty vintage-inspired party bunting.

Issue 209 – On Sale Now!

While we're not really ones for blowing
our own trumpets, we are rather proud
of the May issue of Cross Stitch Collection.
Not only is it beautiful, and of course, a
very good read, but it also has a real sense
of celebration about it. So, we figured that
the perfect way to celebrate the new issue
would be to bring you…

…three things we love about issue 209!

Mother's Day treats!

We're sure that you won't have forgotten, but here in the UK, Mother's Day is fast approaching (it's on Sunday 18th of March, in case you had forgotten). If you bought the last issue of Cross Stitch Collection (207), you'll have spotted some smashing Mother's Day cards designed Angela Poole...

But, if you did miss them and you're still frantically hunting for something quick and easy to stitch for your mum, we've got a few ideas in mind. Over on The Making Spot, we've discovered these little gems:

Download FREE Easter motifs!

At Cross Stitch Collection, we're really getting in the mood for Easter. In issue 208 (on sale now!) we bring you a bouncy Easter bunny cushion by Lucie Heaton, gorgeous blackwork Easter cards by Lesley Teare, loads of spring goodies, and adorable Easter egg cosies, by Angela Poole.

In fact, Angela had so much fun designing the egg cosies that she had a couple of motifs left over. So, instead of keeping them to ourselves (believe us, we were tempted!) we've decided to give you an early Easter treat by making them available for you to download. If you're not a fan of eggs and soldiers don't fret because there are multiple uses for them - we're thinking cards, gift tags, napkins... the possibilities are endless!

We're coming to London!

If you've always fancied meeting Mr X Stitch, Jane Greenoff of the Cross Stitch Guild or the fabulous Emily Peacock (among others) then you should get yourself down to the Stitch & Craft Show at London's Olympia on 15-18 March.

There you'll have an opportunity to meet the teams from Cross Stitch Collection, CrossStitcher, Papercraft Inspirations, Mollie Makes, Simply Knitting and The Knitter and take advantage of some exciting workshops from guest stitchers. There will be an opportunity to stock up on some wonderful stitchy goodies for your stash and to find out what's new in the crafting industry.

Don’t forget Mother's Day!

Looking for a special gift for Mum this Mother’s Day?

In fact, you can choose between seven of our craft and hobby magazines, including Simply Knitting, Papercraft Inspirations and Your Family Tree.

So, if you're feeling really generous, you could even treat her  to more than one!

Cross Stitch Collection issue 207

Cross Stitch Collection are celebrating all things British this month with the first of a new three-part series by Deb Lester and Sandy Littlejohns.

The first part of the design is featured in issue 207 (on sale right now!) and pays homage to the 1948 Austerity Games. Celebrated in the post-war economic climate, neighbours and families joined together in the streets for a good old fashioned knees-up with bunting, cakes and good old fashioned street games...
