Mistake in Quick&Easy Stitch&Craft 153 free kit

We've discovered a slight mistake in the key for your free wardrobe kit with the June issue of Stitch&Craft. The key says that the cross stitch is in two strands, but all cross stitch should actually be done in one strand.

We're very sorry for any problems this has caused – do let us know at quickandeasy@futurenet.co.uk if you've already started it in two strands!

Summer stitching ideas

Hi there

Well it seems that the warm weather is really (and though my lawn won’t thank me I’m hoping it’ll last a while yet!) After all, these gorgeous sunny days put me really in the mood for heaps of crafting!
Warmer days set me in the mood for summer floral projects, and bright evenings mean I can keep stitching much longer too – whether its crafting for my wedding coming up, or just some relaxing projects of my own as a distraction from all the planning!!
I’m sure you feel the same – and we’ve heaps of new projects and crafty ideas for you to get stuck into in the new issue of Quick&Easy Stitch&Craft, on sale now.

Quick&Easy Stitch&Craft box template

If you've got the new issue of Quick&Easy Stitch&Craft, you'll already have seen our cute gift box design on page 28.  If you don't want to photocopy our template for the box, it's here for you to download.  Try printing it directly onto thin card so you can just cut it out and make it in seconds – and why not try it in a selection of colours? It's the perfect package for any small gift!

Inspiration from others

One piece of feedback we always get from readers is how much they love to see other stitchers' work in print, and reading their stories. And it's also one of my favourite parts of the day – checking the post, sorting away the competition entries, and then looking through all the letters you've sent in to us.

You're such a creative and talented lot, and it's particularly nice to see how you adapt our designs and really make them your own. Angela loves seeing all the different ways you make up the cover kits she designs!

Seeing other crafters' work is always inspirational for all of us, and it's also wonderful to hear the special stories behind each design. So if you've recently finished a design, remember, take a photo and either send it to us at the usual address, or email quickandeasy@futurenet.co.uk

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Local craft shops

Even in this age of online retailers and mail order, there's still something wonderful about a local craft shop – somewhere you can go and browse kits, products and all those wonderful colours of threads, and get to know the staff and fellow crafters.

I still have fond memories of my local stitching shop in Rhyl when I was a child, and I'm sure the wonderful products I saw there helped inspire me to become the professional crafter I am today!

At Quick&Easy Stitch&Craft we'd love to hear about your favourite craft shop.

Cross stitch clubs

One of the things that's so great about crafting is that it's such an enjoyable hobby to share. I'm sure we've all spent many happy afternoons in the company of a crafting friend, sitting round a table  cutting out bits and pieces or gathered on a sofa stitching away at our latest works-in-progress.

But we know a lot of you do even more than that, forming and joining stitching and crafting clubs and meeting regularly to share your hobby, swap tips and generally have a good time with people who share the same love of crafting that you do.  Seeing the growth in these groups has led to us including a new clubs section in Quick&Easy Stitch&Craft, allowing you to see if there are any clubs in your area - and if you're already in a club, it's a great way to advertise and gain new members.  Plus each month our 'club of the month' will receive £25 of crafting goodies!
