Lucie Heaton woodland fawn picnic project - CrossStitcher issue 253

We all love a good picnic and what's more, we all love cute woodland animals. So, there's no way we couldn't resist combining the two to create this oh-so-adorable picnic setting, designed by Lucie Heaton.

Our pair of on-trend retro deers look so pretty mixed with pistachio green fabrics, aqua cotton and white pom pom trim and there's plenty of making-up ideas in this months issue.

woodland fawn - free patternWhy not try your hand at using soluble canvas and stitch the small floral motifs straight onto a cotton cushion cover like we have? It's such a simple way to get a really professional finish.

You'll find all the patterns and instructions for this project in CrossStitcher's June issue - on sale until 12th June.  Buy our latest issue online or find it on the magazine shelves in all good newsagents and supermarkets.

FREE CHARTS: Until then, here's some extra woodland motifs for you to download, including those adorable mini fawn motif. Enjoy...
