Sewing, stitching and crafting has once again taken the nation by storm and thanks to organisers Twisted Thread, you too can join the revolution at The Knitting and Stitching Show taking place in Harrogate later this month.
From 24 - 27th November, the six halls of the Harrogate International Centre will be full of inspirational textile art, craft companies selling the best supplies plus workshops and an Upcycling Academy, to re-vamp your wardrobe and help save the planet!
Following the growing trend for ethical fashion, this year sees a big emphasis on 'upcycling'. Back by popular demand are the team of young and creative people who work with charity TRAID (Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development).
They'll be demonstrating how to turn something old into something new and something tatty into something trendy at the Upcycling Academy.
If you'd rather jump in at the shallow end, join Yorkshire’s Craft Guerilla in the First Steps Lounge instead - the perfect place for those who want to give it a go! Choose from 10 simple kits covering sewing, patchwork, hand appliqué and crochet and let the Graft Guerilla folk show you how.
Sound good? We thought so. Visit www.twistedthread.com for more details and to buy tickets.
