To help raise funds for Breast Cancer Care Pink Fridays campaign that runs throughout October, CrossStitcher magazine (Commissioning Editor Charlie, above right) have teamed up contemporary needlepoint designer Emily Peacock (above left) to create a stylish ‘stitch-it-yourself’ pink ribbon!
To get involved, here's what you need to do:
Download the free chart from our Just Giving page, stitch it in your favourite colours and donate £2 to Breast Cancer Care. You can even use spare threads and fabric from your stash to make yours - it's as simple as that!
Once you're done, don't forget to take a quick photo and post it onto our Flickr or Facebook page... we'll be collating our pick of the best for a special online gallery at the end of the month!
More about this special collaboration:
So many people each year are affected by Breast Cancer and the CrossStitcher team know that providing this design will encourage more people to get involved with this fantastic cause, as Emily Peacock explains: “The spirit of Breast Cancer Care and the incredible work they do can be so wonderfully expressed through cross stitch. To create something from your own hands for someone else, or with the thought or memory of someone is, I feel, a true offering and beautiful symbol of love and compassion.”
Emily Peacock has kindly donated this pink ribbon copyright free - so you can stitch and sell them for charity. All we ask is that you donate £2 for use of the chart.
Hundreds of people throughout the country will host a Pink Fridays party at work, home or school to raise money for Breast Cancer Care. To register today visit www.breastcancercare.org.uk/pinkfridays
