Hello again,
We’ve all been chatting in the office recently about the most difficult piece of stitching we’ve ever done. For Harriet it was the first really big project she ever stitched – the Lavender and Lace design, Celtic Autumn. It was huge and had lots of fiddly beads, but of course looked absolutely stunning when it was finished, making it all worthwhile.
Ruth’s most difficult stitch was a dolphin design she made for her cousin’s 18th birthday. It used up to five strands at a time, with lots of blending – it sounds like it would have driven me crazy!
I’m really not sure what mine is. I’ve got a wizard design on black fabric that really hurts your eyes, I’ve done designs where the backstitch is so fiddly it takes as long as the cross stitching did, and I’m currently stitching a bookmark that’s on 25HPI evenweave, stitched over one strand! Plus there’s those really big designs you feel you’ll never see the end of…
So, we’d like to know, what’s the most difficult piece of stitching you’ve ever done? What made it so difficult – and how did you feel when you’d finished it?
Just post your comments here, or email us on quickandeasy@futurenet.co.uk
I look forward to hearing all your stories!
Rhian
