Hello there,
I’d love to know what you think of French knots. Do you find them easy or do they still frustrate you by disappearing through the fabric or by looking like squashed flies? They’re an essential part of so many designs these days, particularly the eyes on cute characters, and in the office we’ve found they can make or break the finished stitching – turning a sweet bear into a bug-eyed monster if they’re not done well!
So, we thought it would be great to share everyone’s French knots tips. Who taught you to do them, or did you suss them out yourself. Have you any clever tricks to make them perfect every time? Do you use more twists round the needle to make them bigger, or more strands of threads?
Or maybe they’re just a stitch too far - you wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole and always use seed beads instead!
Let us know – it’d be great to hear from you…
Cathy
